Box Score 
The University of Pittsburgh-Johnstown softball team continued their run of success in Florida today as they defeated Philadelphia's University of the Sciences via the NCAA's eight-run rule. 
 
The Mountain Cats went down early when the University of the Sciences scored two runs in the opening inning. The Devils added one more in the top of the third to take a 3-0 advantage. 
Olivia Porter sparked a Pitt-Johnstown comeback in the bottom of the third with an inside the park homerun. 
Julia Mooney followed that up with two RBIs. 
Hailei Markee added another RBI and then Porter finished the inning with 2 RBIs to make the score 6-3 in favor of the Mountain Cats. Pitt-Johnstown went through their whole lineup during their rally. 
 
In the bottom of the fourth inning, 
Maddie Flowers cranked home run out of the park to bring the score to 7-3. In the bottom of the fifth, Porter had another two RBIs while 
Taylor Mendicino added one more increasing the Mountain Cat lead to seven runs. 
 
Lauren Gohacki hit a double in the bottom of the sixth inning before 
Hannah Gnibus hit in the last two RBIs of the game. The game was then stopped by the umpire as the Mountain Cats were up by more than eight runs.
 
Alyssa Hileman pitched the whole game to pick up the win. She earned one strikeout and did not walk a single batter, allowing only seven hits. 
 
The Mountain Cats continue their Spring Trip to Florida with another game today against Lake Erie (OH) College. They then travel to Jan Phyl Village, FL to take on College of Staten Island (NY) and Saint Michael's (VT) on the 11th before coming back to Winter Haven, FL on the 12th to face East Stroudsburg University and Stonehill (MA) College.
