Pitt-Johnstown junior forward
John Paul Kromka became a two-time Second-Team Division II Conference Commissioner's Association (D2CCA) All-Atlantic Region Team member when this year accolades were announced on Friday.
West Liberty's Bryce Butler was named the 2021-22 D2CCA Atlantic Region Player of the Year. Butler, the Mountain East Conference Player of the Year, averaged 18.1 points and 7.5 rebounds per contest in helping lead West Liberty to both the Mountain East Conference regular season and tournament titles. With 29 double-figure scoring games and 10 double-doubles, he ranks among the Top 10 nationally with 239 made field goals and is 13
th in Division II field-goal percentage (239-382, .636).
Kromka, a six-time PSAC West Defensive Athlete of the Week in 2021-22, earned his third straight PSAC West Defensive Athlete of the Year honor and his third straight All-PSAC West honor after being named to the second team as a freshman and the first team in both 2019-20 and 2021-22. The 2018-19 PSAC West Freshman of the Year led Pitt-Johnstown in scoring (17.5 ppg), rebounding (8.1 rpg.), field goal percentage (67.7%), and blocks (88), and was second in assists (87) and third in steals.
Kromka, also a Second-Team All-Atlantic Region performer in 2019-20 and a First-Team Academic All-American a year ago, leads NCAA Division II in total blocks (88), and leads the PSAC and ranks fourth nationally in blocked shots per game (2.90) and fifth in field goal percentage (67.7%). He is also 39
th in total rebounds with 243.
On November 30, the Monroeville, Pa. native and Gateway High School graduate scored 22 points at Malone (OH) to become the Mountain Cats' 32
nd 1,000-point scorer. He currently stands in 11
th-place on the Pitt-Johnstown All-Time Scoring List with 1,443 points and in fourth-place on All-Time Rebounding List with 732 rebounds.

The process concludes with All-American selections announced later in the month. The Atlantic Region consists of schools from the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA), the Mountain East Conference (MEC) and the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC), along with independents Bluefield State and Salem.
The team is sponsored by the Division II Conference Commissioners Association encourages and promotes Division II athletics and high standards of sportsmanship as important elements of higher education. The CCA is a key communications link among the conferences as they discuss views, policies and regulations that impact Division II intercollegiate athletics and works closely with the NCAA as a communications channel to NCAA Division II member colleges and universities.
