th Year) Mercyhurst team comes in at 18-9 overall and 1-3 in the PSAC West after dropping a pair of games to IUP on Friday.
Kaci Alderson had four hits, including a homer and four RBI, but the Lakers suffered a 6-5 loss in game one. In the nightcap,
Madison Frye added three hits in a 4-3 setback. Mercyhurst opened PSAC-play by splitting a pair of games with Edinboro on April 2.
Mercyhurst holds a 6-4 advantage in the series that dates back to the 2015 season. Last year, the Mountain Cats and Lakers played three doubleheaders. On April 3, the teams split two PSAC games in Johnstown, before the Lakers completed the conference series with 6-0 and 3-2 wins in Erie on April 5. On April 18 at V.E. Erickson Complex, Mercyhurst took game one of a non-conference doubleheader, 10-4, and Pitt-Johnstown answered with a 4-2 win in the nightcap.
Pitt-Johnstown travels to PSAC doubleheaders at Gannon on Thursday and Edinboro on Friday. Pitt-Johnstown will play its next home games on April 23 when Seton Hill visits for a pair of PSAC games.
