Olivia Porter hit a three-run homer that put Pitt-Johnstown in the lead for good, and
Alyssa Hileman limited Edinboro to just two runs on three hits in a 7-2 Mountain Cat victory in Sunday's first game of a PSAC doubleheader in Edinboro. The Mountain Cats, 16-19 overall and 4-8 on conference-play, suffered a 4-0 setback in game two.
In game one, Kendra Keyser's homer to center to lead off the bottom of the third gave Edinboro the early lead.
Pitt-Johnstown answered to go on top with three runs in the top of the fifth. With two outs,
Lauren Gohacki singled to center,
Hailei Markee reached on a bunt single, and Porter belted a three-run home run to left field.
The Mountain Cats broke it open with four more runs in the seventh. Singles from Gohacki and Markee and a walk to Porter loaded the bases.
Taylor Mendicino's single up the middle scored Gohacki, and Markee scored from second on an Edinboro throwing error to make it 5-1. After
Carly Santillo' single chased home Porter, Pitt-Johnstown reloaded the bases and
Maddie Flowers delivered a base hit that allowed Mendicino to score to increase it to 7-1.

The Fighting Scots set the final at 7-2 with a run in the bottom of the seventh.
Pitt-Johnstown's Hileman got the job done in the circle, allowing just two runs on three hits, Keyser's solo home run in the third, and a double and a single in the bottom of the seventh. Hileman, who improved to 10-7, fanned three and didn't allow a walk.
Porter went 2-for-3 with a three-run homer, and two runs, while Mendicino had two hits, drove in one and scored one, and Santillo had two hits and an RBI to lead the Mountain Cats' 11 hit attack. Gohacki and Markee collected two hits apiece, and Flowers had a hit and an RBI.
Edinboro's Macy Sral fell to 1-9 after giving up seven runs on 11 hits in seven innings.
In the nightcap, Fighting Scots' starting pitcher Lauren Bush helped her own cause and put Edinboro up 1-0 in the bottom of the third with a solo homer to center.
Mackenzie Quider led of the bottom of the fourth with a homer off of Mountain Cat starter
Tori Radvan, and Maya Kozup scored from third on a double steal off of reliever
Kayla Miehl later in the innings to made it 3-0.
The Fighting Scots added one more in the fifth and went on to secure the split with the 4-0 win.
Julia Mooney, Santillo, Radvan, Miehl, and Gohacki accounted for the Pitt-Johnstown hits.
Radvan fell to 1-7 after giving up two runs on three hits in three-plus innings. She struck out three and walked one. Miehl pitched the final three innings and surrendered two runs on six hits over the final three innings.
Quider and Bush each homered and had two hits, and Maura Pasquale had two hits for Edinboro.
Bush scattered five hits in the complete-game shutout to improve to 4-3.
With the split, the Fighting Scots are 6-19 overall and 4-6 in the PSAC West.
Pitt-Johnstown is scheduled to travel to a PSAC doubleheader at Clarion on Friday, before returning home to celebrate Senior Night with a PSAC doubleheader against Indiana (PA) on Saturday at 5:30 p.m. at V.E. Erickson Complex.
