Softball to Recognize Seven Seniors Prior to Saturday Evening’s Regular Season Finale Against IUP

The Pitt-Johnstown softball team will celebrate Senior Night prior it 2022 home finale against PSAC Western Division foe Indiana (PA), Saturday evening at V.E. Erickson Complex.  Game times are scheduled for 5:30 and 7:30 p.m.
 
Head Coach Niki Cognigni-Pecora and the Pitt-Johnstown softball program will recognize seven seniors before Saturday's PSAC doubleheader against IUP…Lauren Gohacki, Alyssa Hileman, Cassidy Kern, Hailei Markee, Taylor Mendicino, Olivia Porter, and Carly Santillo.
 
The Mountain Cats were 16-19 overall and 4-8 in the PSAC West prior to Friday's conference games at Clarion.  Pitt-Johnstown split a pair of PSAC games at Edinboro on Sunday.  Hileman held the Fighting Scots to just two runs on three hits and Porter belted a three-run homer in a 7-2 win in game one.  Edinboro took the nightcap, 4-0.
 
IUP, under third-year Head Coach Shawna Bellaud, was 15-16 overall and 7-5 in the PSAC West prior to Friday's conference games against Seton Hill.  the Crimson Hawks have lost their last three games, including an 11-0 non-conference setback to Bloomsburg on Wednesday.  IUP also suffered 4-0 and 5-2 PSAC losses to Cal U last Saturday.
 
On March 22, Pitt-Johnstown traveled to Indiana and split a pair of non-conference games with the Crimson Hawks.  After suffering a 9-0 loss in the opener, the Mountain Cats responded with a 4-0 win in game two.  Kayla Miehl got her first start of the season and held IUP scoreless on just three hits.  Maddie Flowers had three hits, and Tori Radvan added two hits for Pitt-Johnstown.
