
In a field of over 120 runners,
Jenna Smith placed 70
th to pace the Pitt-Johnstown women's cross country team to a 10
th-place finish at Saturday's tune-up for the PSAC Championships at the Bloomsburg Invitational.
Lock Haven's Elaina Klinger won medalist honors with a time of 22:10.5 to help the Bald Eagles claim the team championship with 42 points, 24 points better than second-place Bloomsburg in the 11-team field.
Smith's time of 27:01.9 topped all of the Mountain Cat runners, while
Alexandra Walton placed 77
th at 27:42.9, seven spots behind Smith.
Ava Barker was 86
th at 28:48.1, and
Lacey Greathouse (94
th-29:33.0) and
Abbey-Gale Brooks (104
th-36:17.1) closed out Pitt-Johnstown's top-five runners.
Lock Haven and Bloomsburg led the team standings, followed by Kutztown (70 points), Millersville (74 points), and Seton Hill (100 points). The Mountain Cats placed 10
th with 303 points.
Pitt-Johnstown will compete in the 2023 PSAC Cross Country Championships in Bloomsburg on Oct. 21, before traveling to Lock Haven for the 2023 NCAA Division II Atlantic Region Championships on Nov. 4.
