Pitt-Johnstown's
Isaiah Vance was named the PSAC Wrestler of the week by the league office on Tuesday after posting a perfect 6-0 record and wining the championship at 285 lbs. at last weekend's Midwest Wrestling Classic in Indianapolis.
Vance, the No. 3 seed at 285 lbs. entering the tournament, opened by pinning Coker's Hamilton Cooper at 5:16, before winning by decision over Lake Erie's Dillon Norris and Maryville's 14th-seeded Ryan Herman to reach the quarterfinals.
Vance then pinned sixth-seeded Daulton Mayer (Thomas More) at 2:57 and won a 5-0 decision over Mary's No. 7-seeded Luke Tweeten in the semifinals.
Vance closed out his title with a convincing 8-1 win over fourth-seeded Mason Watt (Chadron State) in the finals.
His efforts led four Mountain Cats who placed in the top eight and helped Pitt-Johnstown tie for sixth in the 48-team field.
