Peyton Alazaus, Olivia Fasick Named Second-Team All-PSAC West Women’s Basketball

Pitt-Johnstown guards Peyton Alazaus and Olivia Fasick were named 2022-23 Second-Team All-Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Western Division Women's Basketball when the conference announced this year's postseason awards on Thursday.
 
Alazaus, a junior guard from Alliance Ohio, led Pitt-Johnstown in 3-point field goals with 73, and her 14.5 points per game, 4.7 rebounds per game and 81.4% free-throw percentage all ranked second on the team.  Alazaus ranks second in the PSAC in 3-point field goals made and 3-pointers per game (2.41), and eighth in 3-point field goal percentage (32.9%).  Nationally, she is 32nd in 3-pointer made and 44th in 3-pointers per game.
 
Fasick, a junior guard from Harrisburg, led the Mountain Cats with 142 assists and free-throws percentage (86.7%) and is second on the team in steals with (32).  In the PSAC, Fasick ranks second in free-throw percentage, third in assists per game (5.1 apg.), and fifth in assist-to-turnover-ratio (1.76).  Her 5.1 assists per game also rank 16th in NCAA Division II, while her 86.7% free-throw percentage is 41st-best in the country.
 
Gannon's Samantha Pirosko was selected the PSAC Western Athlete of the Year and Bri Claxon earned Freshman of the Year Honors.  Allycia Harris from California (PA) was the Defensive Player of the Year, and Edinboro's Callie Wheeler was the Coach of the year.
 
In the Eastern Division, Shippensburg's Ariel Jones was tabbed the Athlete of the Year, and Lock Haven's Alana Robinson was the Freshman of the Year.  West Chester's Michelle Kozicki was the Defensive Player of the Year and Kiera Wooden was the Coach of the year.
