Evan Beach connected for a pair of two-run home runs, but Shippensburg scored 14 unearned runs off of five Pitt-Johnstown miscues in a 17-7 non-conference win over the Mountain Cats, Tuesday afternoon at Point Stadium. Pitt-Johnstown is now 13-24.
Dylan Broderick's two-out, base hit through the right side scored
Jake Ansell from second to give the Mountain Cat a 1-0 second-inning lead.
Shippensburg came back with three unearned runs off of Pitt-Johnstown reliever
Zach Myers in the top of the third, before Pitt-Johnstown scored four in the bottom of the fifth to regain the lead.
Asher Corl drove home a pair with a single down the left field line, and Beach followed with a two-run homer to left-center.
Eight more runs, including five unearned and Austin Baal's two-run home run in the top of the sixth, put the Raiders in from 11-5.


Beach's second two-run home run of the day in the bottom of the seventh cut Pitt-Johnstown's deficit to 11-7, but Shippensburg scored six unearned runs in the eighth, highlighted by Morgan Wyatt's grand slam, to push it out to 17-7.
Along with Beach's homers, Broderick went 3-for-3 with an RBI, while Corl drove home two with his double for the Mountain Cats.
Josh Ulery also had two of Pitt-Johnstown's 13 hits.
Zach Sliz suffered the loss in relief and slipped to 0-1 after giving up four runs.
Brandon Clifford got the start and held the Raiders scoreless on just one hit over the first two innings.
With the win, Shippensburg is now 20-21.
