
Head Coach Niki Cognigni-Pecora and the Pitt-Johnstown Mountain Cats will celebrate Senior Day prior to Thursday's PSAC Western Division doubleheader against Indiana (PA) and recognize
Maddie Flowers and
Laura Fox. Due to rain in the forecast, these games were moved from Friday to Thursday and will be played at Richland Elementary School starting at 2 p.m.
The Mountain Cats, 11-27 overall and 6-20 in the PSAC West prior to Wednesday's doubleheader at Slippery Rock, dropped a pair of conference doubleheaders last week. On Thursday, Seton Hill earned 9-4 and 12-6 wins, before Mercyhurst picked up 10-1 and 5-1 wins on Friday.
IUP, under third-year
Head Coach Shawna Bellaud, was 24-21 overall and 15-13 in the PSAC west before Wednesday's non-conference doubleheader at Lock Haven. On Tuesday, the Crimson Hawks swept Clarion, 10-1 and 9-4.
On April 7, Pitt-Johnstown visited IUP and split a doubleheader. The Mountain Cats took game one, 11-9, behind three hits from
Kayla Miehl, three RBI from
Julia Mooney, and two RBI each from
Audrey Paterson and
Hannah Gnibus. The Crimson Hawks won game two, 4-3.
Pitt-Johnstown is scheduled to close out the 2023 season with a PSAC West doubleheader against Clarion on Saturday starting a 10. a.m. at V.E. Erickson Complex.
