Pitt-Johnstown battled throughout the first half, but eventually succumbed to Seton Hill in a 4-1 PSAC West setback on Tuesday afternoon at the Pitt-Johnstown Soccer Field. The Mountain Cats dropped to 2-2 on the year.
Down 2-0 in the closing minutes of the first half, freshman forward Ryan Kyei Boahen rebounded his own miss and punched in an unassisted goal in the 43rd minute to cut the deficit to 2-1 at the break.
Pitt-Johnstown outshot Seton Hill 19-18, but the Griffins had the advantage in shots on goal 14-8.
In just 46 minutes, Boahen tied Anson Portzline and Alexzander Toto for the team lead in shots on goal with two.
But Julian Marker and Brice Gandhi each had a goal in the second half for the Griffins to eliminate any chance of a comeback.
Vasilis Christodoulou put Seton Hill on the board early with an unassisted goal in the third minute. In the 34th minute, Gandhi recorded his first tally of the day to make it 2-0.
Sophomore Jacob Tichnell faced 18 shots and registered a season-high nine saves after spending all 90 minutes in the net for Pitt-Johnstown.
The Mountain Cats visit Slippery Rock for a Saturday matinee beginning at 1 p.m.
