Pitt-Johnstown freshman forward Gavin Headings earned PSAC West Defensive Athlete of the Week honors on Monday after averaging 9.7 points, 10.7 rebounds, including 8.3 defensive rebounds, and 1.3 blocks in three games.

In an 84-63 win over Kutztown in the Sports Center on Dec. 30, Headings scored 15 points, grabbed a game-high 16 rebounds (13 defensive rebounds), and blocked a game-high three shots.  He also had one assist and one steal.

Headings then had six points, seven rebounds (5 defensive rebounds), and a pair of assists in the Mountain Cats' 94-77 win over Shippensburg on Wednesday, before scoring eight points, pulling down a game-high nine rebounds (7 defensive rebounds), blocking one shot, and making one steal in Saturday's 64-57 loss at Mercyhurst.
