

Pitt-Johnstown scored three unanswered second half goals, including one each from
Lydia Roman and
Sophia Lamesta in a three-minute span, to erase a halftime deficit and lead the Mountain Cats to a 3-1 PSAC Western Division victory at Slippery Rock, Wednesday afternoon. Pitt-Johnstown is now 5-4-2 overall and 3-4-2 in conference-play.

Emma Morin kept it close with five saves in the first half, but Slippery Rock was able to take a slim, 1-0, lead into the halftime break when Sophia Palermo finished a corner kick from Sydney Patrick 26 minutes into the match.
Pitt-Johnstown answered to take the lead with a pair of goals to start the second half. Roman took a cross from
Nicole Hawk less than two minutes in and beat Rock goalkeeper Leah Allman to the upper right corner, before Lamesta finished an assist from Roman that put the Mountain Cats on top, 2-1, just three minutes later.
The Mountain Cats kept the momentum and increased it to 3-1 with an insurance goal in the 71
st minute when
Haley Neidig took Hawk's second assist of the day and found the back of the net.


Morin picked up the victory after facing 18 shots, making nine saves, and surrendering just one goal, while Allman took the loss after giving up three goals on six Pitt-Johnstown shots. Allman made two saves.
Slippery Rock, currently in second-place in the PSAC West standings, dropped to 5-4-3 overall and 5-2-2 in the conference.
Pitt-Johnstown will host a PSAC West match against Seton Hill for Breast Cancer Awareness Day on Saturday at noon at Richland High School, before visiting Indiana (PA) for another conference match on Wednesday.
