Natalie Lippincott, and
Dannika Susko all had eight kills to lead the Pitt-Johnstown volleyball team to a 25-20, 25-10, 25-19 PSAC West sweep over visiting Edinboro, Friday evening in the Sports Center. The Mountain Cats improved to 14-1 overall and 2-0 in the conference.
The Mountain Cats erased an early two-point first set deficit with six straight points, including a pair of Lippincott services aces, to climb out to a 12-7 advantage. Kills by Zuro and
Mallory Pinske increased it 22-13, before Edinboro clawed back and used a Makayla Neelands kill to get with four at 23-19. However, an attack error and a kill from Susko gave the Mountain Cats the 25-20 win.
After Erika Lundqvist's kill put the Fighting Scots on top by one to start the second set, Pitt-Johnstown took control and outscored Edinboro 25-10 to build a 2-sets-to-none lead with a lopsided, 25-10 win. Five consecutive points, capped by a
Lualis Alvarado and Susko block, put the Mountain Cats ahead by four, and another kill from Zuro pushed it into double digits at 18-8. Pitt-Johnstown kept the pressure on and got a from Pinske and took advantage of an Edinboro attack error to wrap up the set.

Einboro kept the third set close, but Susko's kill closed a 6-1 Pitt-Johnstown run that gave the Mountain Cats a 14-9 lead. The Fighting Scots narrowed the gap to three on several occasions, with the last coming at 20-17, but the Mountain Cats scored five of the final seven points to close out the sweep on Zuro's kill and another Fighting Scots' attack error.
Lippincott added seven digs and two aces to her eight kills, while Susko had eight kills a solo block, and a match-high five block assists. Pitt-Johnstown also got seven kills and three blocks from Pinske, and five kills, a match-high 30 set assists, two aces, and eight digs from
Adiamar Beaz.
Gabriella DeRenzo and
Jessica Krug led the way with 14 and 12 digs, respectively, while
Lualis Alvarado had two aces and six digs.
Jessica Hardin's seven kills and Neelands and Lindqvist's six kills apiece paced the Fighting Scots, now 10-6 overall and 1-2 in the PSAC West.
Pitt-Johnstown closes out the weekend with a home conference match against Gannon on Saturday at noon in the Sports Center, before traveling to PSAC West matches at Seton Hill on Friday and at California (PA) next Saturday.
