Ellie Zuro collected a team-high eight kills, but PSAC West-leading Gannon stayed hot and ran its winning streak to 11 straight matches with a 3-0 victory over Pitt-Johnstown, Friday evening in Erie. The Mountain Cats are now 16-7 overall and 3-6 in conference-play.

Lualis Alvarado kept the opening set tight early, but Gannon got hot and used a 13-4 run to turn a two-point advantage into a 19-8 lead on Ali Sorenson's kill and a pair of Mountain Cat attack errors. The Golden Knights, who collected 14 kills in the set, used one from Carissa Treser and another attack error to win the set, 25-13.
Gannon held the momentum to start the second set and jumped out to a four-point lead, before
Dannika Susko's kill, a service ace from Zuro, and a Golden Knights' attack error helped Pitt-Johnstown knot it at 12. However, Gannon broke the tie with four unanswered points and went on to outscore the Mountain Cats, 13-4, the rest of the way to take a two-sets-to-none lead with a 25-16 victory.

Natalie Lippincott, Susko, and Zuro combined for nine kills to start the third set that put Pitt-Johnstown on top, 9-3, before Gannon countered with nine consecutive points, including a block solo and two block assists


from Lauren Atwell to take a 12-9 lead. The Golden Knights were able to push it out to 20-14 and went on to close out the match with a 25-17 win on Sorenson's kill.
Along with Zuro's eight kills, Alvarado had six kills and a dozen digs, and Susko added six kills and a block for the Mountain Cats. Pitt-Johnstown also got four kills from
Mallory Pinske and three kills from Lippincott.
Adiamar Beaz had a team-high 22 set assists and 15 digs, while
Gabriella DeRenzo also had 15 digs and
Jessica Krug tallied seven digs for the Mountain Cats.
Gannon, now 18-5 overall and 10-0 in the PSAC West, was led by Journey Blevins' match-high 14 kills. Haley Koch finished with nine kills and Lauren Atwell and Sorenson combined for nine kills and 12.5 blocks..
Pitt-Johnstown travels to a PSAC West road matches at Edinboro on Saturday, before hosting conference matches against California (PA) on Nov. 8 and Seton Hill for Senior Day on Nov. 9.
