Nathan Helms each drove in two, and nine Pitt-Johnstown pitchers tossed an inning each to combine to shutout Lock Haven, 9-0, in Tuesday's non-conference game at Point Stadium. The Mountain Cats are now 10-12.
Alex Ebeling walked with two outs and came around to score on three consecutive wild pitches to give the Mountain Cats a 1-0 lead after two innings.
Turcovski delivered a two-run single in the Pitt-Johnstown half of the third, before two more runs in the fourth made it 5-0.
The Mountain Cats added four runs in the seventh, including a two-run single from Helms, to close out the scoring.
Turcovski went 2-for-3 with a pair or RBI, while Helms drove in two, and
Alex Glumac and
Aidan Steinbugl each had RBI for Pitt-Johnstown.
Freshman right-hander
Ethan Kaminsky got the win in his college debut after striking out one in a perfect fifth inning.
Jared Hoener got the start for Pitt-Johnstown and fanned one in the opening inning. The nine Mountain Cat pitchers combined to limit the Bald Eagles to just three hits, while striking out nine.
With the loss, Lock Haven dropped to 6-18 on the season.
Pitt-Johnstown will host a PSAC Western Division doubleheader against Gannon on Friday starting at 1 p.m. at Point Stadium, before concluding the four-game series in Erie on Saturday.
