Ebeling, Mountain Cats roll to non-conference victory at Lock Haven

Lock Haven, PA

A pair of prolonged innings that included a four-run second inning was enough for Pitt-Johnstown to stay well in front of Lock Haven and seal a 10-5 non-conference road victory on Tuesday afternoon. The Mountain Cats improved to 14-22 overall and sit at 4-12 in the PSAC West. The Bald Eagles dropped to 7-30 and are 4-20 inside the PSAC East.

Josh Reynolds and Aidan Steinbugl were both hit by a pitch with one out to ignite the second inning outburst. Alex Glumac walked and Erik Rhodes drove in a pair with a double down the right field line to make it 3-0.

Alex Ebeling followed it up with a clutch two-RBI single that ran the lead up to 5-0. He enjoyed a productive day, compiling four of the team's 11 hits and also scored on a passed ball in the sixth that pushed the advantage to 7-3.

The Mountain Cats provided themselves with ample breathing room in the seventh with three hits that all came with two outs to extend their lead to seven. Josh Ulery had an infield single that brought home Alex Glumac, who walked and stole second base.

Justin Turcovski lined a crisp RBI triple to score Ulery right before Garrett Prosper put the exclamation mark on the frame with an RBI single that extended it to 10-3.

Maybe most impressively is the fact that the Mountain Cats utilized nine different pitchers who all recorded at least one out. Ulery's sacrifice fly that plated Rhodes in the first enabled Alec Petroff to pick up the win after tossing a scoreless bottom of the first.

The Mountain Cats open up a four-game weekend series with Mercyhurst at home on Friday with a doubleheader beginning 1 p.m. from Point Stadium.
