Kayla Miehl and
Julia Mooney each earned Second-Team 2024 All-Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Western Division Softball Team honors when the league office released this year's awards on Tuesday. The PSAC head coaches voted on this year's all-conference teams.

Miehl, a first-team selection as a designated player a year ago, was named to the second team in 2024 at the same position, while Mooney secured second-team honors as a catcher for Head Coach Niki-Cognigni Pecora's Mountain Cats.

Miehl, a senior from Bethel Park, Pa. and a graduate of Bethel Park High School, started 41 of Pitt-Johnstown's 42 games and led the team in nearly every offensive category, including batting average (.391), hits (43), home runs (9), RBI (28), total bases (78), slugging percentage (.709), OPS (1.261), on-base percentage (.507), and walks (25). Her eight doubles were also tied for the team-lead. Miehl ranks fifth in the PSAC and 51 nationally in on-base percentage, fifth in the conference and 52
nd in the country in walks per game (.60), and seventh in the PSAC and 117
th nationally in slugging percentage.

Mooney, a native Drums, Pa. and a graduate of Hazleton Area High School, played in 41 games and made 40 starts. The junior catcher was tied for the team lead in doubles with eight and finished second on the team in batting average (.353), home runs (7), RBI (23), total bases (70), slugging percentage (.603), OPS (1.056), on-base percentage (.453). She was also tied for second on the team with Miehl in runs with 17 and tied for second in hits with 41.

The 2024 PSAC Athlete of the Year honorees are Caleigh Rister (California (PA) in the Western Division and Aleese Angelo (Millersville) in the Eastern Division.

Gannon's Maggie Lenda was named PSAC Western Division Pitcher of the Year and East Stroudsburg's Sarah Davenport was the PSAC East Pitcher of the Year.

Kassidy Wittig (IUP) and Davenport (East Stroudsburg) were named the Freshmen of the Year in their respective divisions, while Gannon's Michelle Wiley and East Stroudsburg's Jaime Wohlbach were selected as the Coaches of the Year in each division.
