Women’s Soccer Battles to 0-0 PSAC Draw With Indiana (PA)

Morin, EmmaThe Pitt-Johnstown women's soccer team got nine saves from Emma Morin to preserve a 0-0 PSAC Western division draw with Indiana (PA0, Wednesday afternoon at Richland High School.  With the draw, the Mountain Cats are now 2-2-1 overall and 0-2-1 in conference-play.
 
IUP got off 14 of their 23 shots in the opening half, but Morin made eight saves to keep the Crimson Hawks off the scoreboard.
 
The Mountain Cats had their opportunities.  Pitt-Johnstown, which gained momentum in the second half, missed a penalty kick in the first half, then hit a post and a crossbar over a two-minute span midway through the final 45 minutes.
 
Pitt-Johnstown limited IUP to nine shots in the second half, while getting six of their eight shots.
 
Morin was forced to make just one save in the second half.
 
The Crimson Hawks,, now 2-0-1 overall and 1-0-1 in the PSAC West, got a pair of saves from goalkeeper Makenna Yarrow.
 
Pitt-Johnstown travels to PSAC West match at Seton Hill on Saturday, before hosting a conference match against California (PA) on Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Richland High School.
