

Pitt-Johnstown outlasted Charleston (WV) in a five-set thriller, 25-19, 25-17, 23-25, 22-25, 15-10, to win its third straight match to open the season at the Millersville Marauders Clash on Saturday afternoon in Millersville.

The Mountain Cats (3-0) were paced by
Lualis Alvarado's match-high 26 kills.
Mallory Pinske provided 13 kills and
Natalie Lippincott added 10 more to Pitt-Johnstown's total of 67.

Adiamar Beaz dished out a match-high 56 assists to pair with three aces and 11 digs. Gabi DeRenzo led the way defensively with a match-high 26 digs, while
Jessica Krug chipped in 13 digs and two aces.

Pitt-Johnstown was 9-for-24 on kill attempts in the final set. The Mountain Cats rattled off the last five points of the match capped off by an ace from Krug to secure the victory.

The Mountain Cats will participate in the Saint Thomas (NY) Aquinas College Tournament beginning next Friday with a pair of games scheduled for 4 p.m. and 6 p.m.
