

After making their debuts last week at the Indiana (PA) Crimson Hawks Invitational, Head Coach
Kile Zeller's Pitt-Johnstown men's and women's swimming teams took part in their first dual meet Friday evening at Lock Haven University.

Nicole Scott won the 100-Meter Backstroke and 100-Meter I.M., while teammate
Allison Arendas finished first in the 50-Meter Butterfly and second in the 100-Meter I.M.

Scott claimed the top spot in the 100-Meter Backstroke with a time of 1:05.11, before finishing the night with a first-place finish in the 100-Meter I.M. at 1:05.99. Scott also placed second in the 100-Meter Butterfly at 1:04.48.

The Mountain Cats also got a strong showing from Arendas, who won the 50-Meter Butterfly (31:08), finished second behind Scott in the 100-Meter I.M. (1:13;57), and placed third in the 50-Meter Freestyle (28.01).

Scott and Arendas competed in the 200-Meter Medley Relay and finished with a half time of 1:56.99.

Lock Haven does not have a men's varsity team, but Pitt-Johnstown's
Mark DiPalma and
Nick Truschel were able to post times in several events.

DiPalma recorded times of 32.57 in the 50-Meter Breaststroke, 1:11.15 in the 100-Meter Breaststroke, and 1:02.28 in the 100-Meter I.M., while Truschel had times of 32.57 in the 50-Meter Breaststroke, 1:14.32 in the 100-Meter Breaststroke, and 1:11.26 in the 100-Meter I.M.

Pitt-Johnstown will compete in a dual meet Saturday at Shippensburg at 1 p.m., before traveling to the Youngstown State (OH) Fall Invitational from Nov. 20-22.
