Jaeger James' unassisted goal with just under nine minutes to play knotted it at two and gave Pitt-Johnstown a 2-2 PSAC West draw with perennial power Gannon, Saturday afternoon at the Pitt-Johnstown Soccer Field. The Mountain Cats are now 5-1-1 overall and off to their best start in league-play a 1-0-1.
Pitt-Johnstown took a 1-0 lead 38 minutes into the opening half on
Oscar Trilles Monferrer's goal off of a free kick from the top of the box, but the Golden Knights quickly answered to tie it less than two minutes later when Per Kristian Lauvstad finished an assist from Carl Dorner.
Gannon then took its first lead of the after noon 16 minutes into the second half of an Enzo Rekka that beat Mountain Cat goalkeeper
Sebastian Roman Rivera.
However, Pitt-Johnstown battled back to tie it. James created a turnover a midfield and scored to the top right corner behind Gannon goalkeeper Samuel Alarcon at 81:19 to even it at two and give the Mountain Cats the draw.


Roman Rivera limited the Golden Knights to just two goals on 21 shots. Roman Rivera also made six saves.
Alarcon saw eight shots from the Mountain Cats, surrendered both goals, and made a pair of saves for Gannon, now 3-2-3 overall and 1-0-1 in the PSAC West.
The Mountain Cats travel to PSAC West matches at Lock Haven on Wednesday and Seton Hill on Saturday, before returning home to host a non-conference match against Chestnut Hill on Oct. 14 at 3 p.m. at the Pitt-Johnstown Soccer Field.
