Wrestlers Set for 2025 NCAA Super Region I Tournament at Fairmont State

First-year Head Coach Tyler Reinhart and the Pitt-Johnstown wrestlers, ranked 15th in the Open Mat Tournament rankings and 16th in the NWCA Coaches Rankings, will travel to Fairmont University's (WV) Feaster Center-Joe Retton Arena for the 2025 NCAA Division II Super Region I Tournament on Saturday.
 
The Mountain Cats will be in search of the program's and 26th NCAA Regional Championship after finishing second by just a half of a point to Gannon a year ago.
 
Twelve teams are scheduled to participate, with the top three wrestlers in each of the 10 weight classes advancing to the NCAA Division II National Tournament in Indianapolis, Ind. on March 14 and 15.

-- Admission for the day will be $20 for adults and $10 for students, children, and seniors
 
Along with No. 15/16-ranked Pitt-Johnstown, this year's Super I Regional Tournament will feature several other of the nation's top-ranked tournament teams, including No. 12/15 Gannon University, No. 18/17 Kutztown University and No. 23 Frostburg State (MD) University.
 
In addition to the nationally ranked teams, American International (MA) College, East Stroudsburg, Fairmont State (WV) University, Felician (NJ) University, Millersville University, Seton Hill University, Shippensburg University, and Wheeling (WV) University will also be part of the 12-team field.
 
Many of the nation's top-ranked individuals will be battling for spots in the national tournament, including three Pitt-Johnstown returning NCAA All-Americans in No. 7/11 Trevon Gray (125 lbs.), No. 6/6 Dakoda Rodgers (197 lbs.) and No. 5/4 Isaiah Vance (285 lbs.) and a pair of returning NCAA National Qualifiers Mason Myers (141 lbs.) and No. 14 Cooper Warshel (157 lbs.).
 
At the 2024 Super Region I Tournament in Kutztown, Gray, Warshel, Rodgers, and Vance all won regional championships and Myers was a regional runner-up.
 
All 10 of the weight classes boast at least one individually-ranked wrestler.

Schedule of Events
Doors Open For Spectators at 9 a.m.
 
--Session I will begin on Saturday at 10 a.m., with the First Round, Championship semifinals & consolation quarterfinals (3 mats) followed by consolation semifinals (3 mats).
 
--Session II will follow with the Championship Semifinals, Consolation Round 3, and Semifinals) (3 mats).
 
NOTE:  The Feaster Center WILL NOT be cleared of Spectators Following the conclusion of Session II
 
--Session III will follow and consist of Placement Matches: 1st, 3rd, 5th; (True-4th matches to follow if necessary). (3 mats)
