
Kara McKenzie won the 400-Meter Hurdles and
Mayah Charity finished second in the 100-Meter Dash and third in the 200-Meter Dash to lead the Pitt-Johnstown women's track and field team to an eight-place finish out of 20 team at this weekend's Messiah Invitational in Grantham, Pa.
Mountain Saint Mary's took home the team championship with 148 points. Pitt-Johnstown was eight with 41 team points.
In the track events, McKenzie took first in the 400-Meter Hurdles with a time of 66.57, while Charity was the runner up in the 100-Meter Dash at 12.25 and third in the 200-Meter Dash at 25.83.
The Mountain Cats also got a third-place finish from
Rihanna Hillegas in the 100-Meter Hurdles (17.09), while
Ava Barker placed seventh in the 800-Meter Run at 2:29.37.
Ava Menzies placed 10th in the 400-Meter Run (64.29) and
Ella Miller was 15th in the 1500-Meter Run (5:24.47).
The Pitt-Johnstown 4x100-Meter Relay Team of Menzies, McKenzie, Hillegas, and Charity came away with a runner-up finish at 50.12.
In the field events,
Carley Weimer finished 18th in the Triple Jump (8.32m).
Pitt-Johnstown travels to the Slippery Rock John Papa Invitational on Thursday and to the Saint Francis Red Flash Open on April 26.
