The Pitt-Johnstown softball team will host a PSAC Western Division doubleheader against Seton Hill, Tuesday afternoon at the Pitt-Johnstown Softball Field. Game one is scheduled for 2 p.m.
Head Coach Niki Cognigni-Pecora's Pitt-Johnstown Mountain Cats were 8-26 overall and 5-15 in the PSAC West before Monday's conference games at Slippery Rock. Pitt-Johnstown celebrated Senior Day on Friday by sweeping Edinboro, 5-0 and 4-3.
Meghan McDonough and
Gianna Surra each had three hits and an RBI, and
Mia Smith pitched a complete game in the opener. In game two,
Julia Mooney had two RBI and Smith earned ser second win of the day after going the first four innings.
Seton Hill, winners of 11 of their last 12 games under third-year
Head Coach Cassie Moore, split two PSAC West games with Gannon on Friday. The Griffins took game one, 2-0, before the Golden Knights ended Seton Hill's 11-game winning streak with a 4-2 win in game two.
Pitt-Johnstown and Seton Hill spit two PSAC games in Greensburg on April 1. The Mountain Cats took the opener, 7-4, behind
Jenna Tallman's four hits and
Isabella DePalma's two RBI.
Kassidy Wittig and
Shelby Teledgy each had two hits and an RBI for the Griffins. In game two, Seton Hill got two hits and three RBI from
Brooklyn Fukushima to get the split with a 12-7 victory. Mooney homered and McDonough had two hits and drove in three for the Mountain Cats.
The Mountain Cats visit Indiana (PA) for a PSAC West doubleheader on Friday, before closing out the regular season with a pair of conference games against Clarion on Saturday at the Pitt-Johnstown Softball Field.
