Ellie Zuro Cirino racked up a game-high 14 kills and added nine digs to propel Pitt-Johnstown to an efficient three-set sweep over Bowie State in its second outing of the Virginia State University Tournament on Friday night.
The Mountain Cats (2-0) took the match by scores of 25-12, 25-17 and 25-19. Pitt-Johnstown also received 10 kills from Caroline Knight and another four apiece from Kiara Harmon and Mallory Pinske, who also tied a team-high with three aces.
Abby Perry dished out 27 assists and collected three aces. Jessica Krug had 16 digs, five assists and three aces.
Pitt-Johnstown will wrap up the tournament with a match against Virginia State on Saturday at 5 p.m.
