Gannon, currently ranked eighth under 18th-year Head Coach Cleve Wright, had its 16-game winning snapped and is 17-2 overall and 9-1 in the PSAC after last Saturday's, 68-63, home loss to then No. 8 Indiana (PA).  Bri Claxon scored a game-high 21 points and Mia Slater had a double-double of 13 points and 10 rebounds.  The Golden Knights also defeated Seton Hill, 83-57, on Jan. 14 behind Claxon's 25 points and Slater's 23 points.

Last year, Gannon swept a pair of conference games from the Mountain Cats.  On Jan. 22, Gannon earned a 66-41 win in Erie, before completing the sweep with a 76-41 victory in the Sports Center one month later.  Margolis had 10 points and Camille Dominick and Riley Childress each had eight points for Pitt-Johnstown.  Claxon's 15 points led four Golden Knights who scored in double figures.

Head Coach Bob Rukavina, who earned his 575th career victory on Jan. 14 at Edinboro, and his Pitt-Johnstown squad, are 10-8 overall and 4-6 in the PSAC after an 84-79 loss at Clarion last Saturday.  Baden Forup had 25 points and a career-high 18 rebounds to post his 10th double-double of the season.  Vinnie Cugini scored 20 points, and Adam Bilinsky added 15 points for Pitt-Johnstown, which leads the country in field goal percentage.  On Jan. 14, the Mountain Cats used doubles from Ryan Calo and Forup in a, 82-68 win at Edinboro.

Gannon, ranked 10th in this week's NABC National Poll under second-year Head Coach Easton Bazzoli, comes in at 16-2 overall and 9-1 in conference-play.  Precious Idiaru scored 16 points and Pace Prosser added 15 points to help the Golden Knights end second-ranked Daemen's (NY) 51-game regular season winning streak with a 79-61 non-conference win on Wednesday.  Gannon also picked up a 92-65 PSAC win over Indiana (PA) last Saturday.  Idiaru's 18 points and seven rebounds led six Golden Knights who scored in double figures.

The Mountain Cats and Golden Knights met twice last season and Gannon came away with a pair of victories.  On Jan. 22 in Erie, Forup collected game-high of 26 points and 12 boards for Pitt-Johnstown, but the Golden Knight came away with a 91-83 victory behind 22 points apiece from Ernest Shelton and Tasman Goodrick.  Gannon then picked up an 86-71 win in the Sports center a month later
