The Pitt-Johnstown volleyball team will host a PSAC Western Division match against Indiana (PA), Saturday at noon in the Sports Center
Prior to Friday's conference match at Seton Hill
Head Coach Justin Haupt's Mountain Cats were 8-4 overall and 1-1 in the PSAC West after splitting a pair of matches in their home debut last weekend. Pitt-Johnstown bounced back from a 3-1 loss to Clarion last Friday by sweeping Slippery Rock last Saturday.
Kiara Harmon collected a team-high 11 kills, while
Caroline Knight and
Ellie Zuro Cirino added 10 kills apiece against the Rock
IUP, under second-year Head Coach Avery Moore, was 11-3 overall and 3-0 in the PSAC West before Friday's home conference match against California (PA). The Crimson Hawks extended their win streak to 10 consecutive matches with a four-set victory over Slippery Rock and a five-set win over Clarion last weekend. Delaney Concannon and Jessica Neiman each had 17 kills against the Golden Eagles last Saturday.
Last year, the Mountain Cats and Crimson Hawks split two conference matches. On Sept. 23, Zuro Cirino had a match-high 20 kills to lead Pitt-Johnstown to a five-set win in the Sports Center. IUP answered with a 3-0 sweep over the Mountain Cats in Indiana behind Concannon's 15 kills on Oct. 24.
Following Saturday's match, The Mountain Cats travel to PSAC West matches at Gannon and Edinboro next weekend, before returning home to host a conference match against California (PA) on Oct. 16 in the Sports Center.
