Sarah Henry's goal tied the match with 30 minutes to play, but Gannon scored two unanswered goals to defeat the Pitt-Johnstown women's soccer team, 3-1, in a PSAC West match Saturday afternoon at McConnell Family Stadium in Erie.
Pitt-Johnstown (1-14-2, 0-13-2 PSAC West) got a standout effort in goal from Gianna Cardillo, who made eight saves over 90 minutes, including six in the second half.
Gannon (12-2-3, 11-2-2 PSAC West) put 11 of its 18 shots on goal, and Cardillo kept the Mountain Cats within reach for most of the afternoon.
Gannon opened the scoring on a goal by Brooklyn Respecki in the 10th minute, assisted by Grace Emanuel, and the Golden Knights took that slim lead into the halftime break.
Pitt-Johnstown answered after halftime, when Henry finished an assist from Rylee Fry that tied it at 1-1 in the 60th minute.
However, Emanuel put Gannon back in front in the 78th minute, with an assist from Respecki, and Amelya Bretz added an insurance goal in the 84th minute, again set up by Respecki.
Pitt-Johnstown will end the 2026 season with a home PSAC West match against California (PA) on Wednesday at 4 p.m. at the Pitt-Johnstown Soccer Field.
