
Tyler Danko's two-run double in the top of the fifth put Pitt-Johnstown on top by two, but Wilmington (DE) answered with three runs in the bottom of the sixth and went on to a 5-4 win over the Mountain Cats in Friday's weekend opener at the USA Baseball National Training Complex in Cary, NC.

th in this week's NCBWA Atlantic Region Poll, is now 5-4.

Alex Ebeling singled-home
Lucas Muffie, and Zac Legars followed with an RBI double to right field to give the Mountain Cats a 2-0 lead in the top of the third.

Wilmington quickly tied it on Brian Klumpp's two-run single in the bottom of the frame, before Danko's double to center in the top of the fifth chased home
Brody Roberts and Ebeling to give the lead back to Pitt-Johnstown.

However, the Wildcats struck for three more runs in the bottom of the sixth, highlighted by Tyler Pirrung's two-single off Mountain Cat reliever
Ethan Porreca, to take the lead for good.

Along with Danko's double and two RBI, Ebeling had an RBI single and scored two runs, and Danko drove in one with a double for Pitt-Johnstown.

Brian Pirone started for the Mountain Cats and went five strong innings, but did not figure in the decision. Pirone allowed two runs on seven hits, while striking out six and walking a pair. Porreca took the loss and slipped to 0-1 after giving up three runs on two hits in the bottom of the sixth.

With the win, Wilmington improved to 4-1.

Pitt-Johnstown will play a doubleheader against Dominican (NY) on Saturday, then conclude the weekend trip to Cary, NC with a game against and Pace (NY) on Sunday.
