Basketball Teams to Celebrate Senior Day at Saturday’s Season Finale Against Clarion

The Pitt-Johnstown men's and women's basketball teams will end the 2025-26 season and celebrate Senior Day with a PSAC doubleheader against Clarion, Saturday afternoon in the Sports Center.  The women are scheduled to tip-off at 1 p.m. with the men's game to follow at 3 p.m.
 
Prior to tip-off each game, Pitt-Johnston will recognize this year's seniors.  Head Coach D'wan Shackleford-Vickroy and the Pitt-Johnstown women's basketball program will honor M'laya Ainsworth, Riley Childress, Lexi Margolis, and Liv West, and Head Coach Bob Rukavina and the Mountain Cat men's program will honor Will Kromka and Nick Watts.
The Mountain Cats will close out the 2025-26 season after falling just short of a spot in next week's PSAC Women's Basketball Tournament.
 
Pitt-Johnstown, 9-17 overall and 6-13 in the PSAC, stormed back from a double-digit halftime deficit with a strong second half, but fell short in a 74-62 conference loss at Seton Hill on Wednesday.  Margolis led the Mountain Cats with 14 points.  West had 13 points and nine rebounds, and Childress had 13 points, while Angel Ezirim added eight points and a team-high 10 rebounds for Pitt-Johnstown.
 
Third-year Head Coach Danielle Fleming and the Clarion Golden Eagles are 12-13 overall and 7-12 in the PSAC and clinched the sixth and final seed in the PSAC West for next week's conference tournament despite Wednesday's, 85-60, home loss to No. 6 Gannon.  Arianna Seitz poured in a game-high 31 points to lead the Golden Eagles.  Clarion also got 11 points off the bench from Kendall Berger and seven rebounds from Zoe Guice
 
The Mountain Cats and Golden Eagles met in Clarion on Jan. 17 and Clarion came away with an 86-72 victory.  Guice scored a game-high 27 points, while Seitz had 17 points and seven rebounds, and Alyssa Terza added a double-double of 13 points and 10 boards for the Golden Eagles.  Ezirim's 13 points and eight rebounds paced Pitt-Johnstown.  The Mountain Cats also got 13 points and five rebounds from Ainsworth, 11 points from West, and 10 points from Sophia Ott.
 
 
The Mountain Cat men come into the game at 11-16 overall and 5-14 in the PSAC after Wednesday's 85-70 setback at Seton Hill.  Baden Forup had 20 points and nine rebounds, Adam Bilinsky added 20 points, and Cedric Rault dished out a game-high 12 assists for the Mountain Cats.  Pitt-Johnstown also got nine points from Ryan Calo, eight points and nine boards from Kromka, and eight points and eight rebounds from Vinnie Cugini.
 
Seventh-year Head Coach Damian Pitts and the Clarion Golden Eagles are 12-15 overall and 7-12 in conference-play.  The Golden Eagles suffered a 124-73 home loss to No. 5 Gannon on Wednesday.  Gavin Cote led the Golden Eagles with 17 points, while Jeremy Thomas II and Trey Nelson collected 15 and 12 points respectively.
 
Since joining the PSAC prior to the 2013-14 season, the Mountain Cats hold a 17-6 advantage in the series.  However, the Golden Eagles earned an 84-79 victory in Clarion in the last meeting on Jan. 17.  Forup posted a double-double of 25 points and a game-high 18 rebounds, while Cugini had 20 and Bilinsky chipped-in 15 points for Pitt-Johnstown.  Clarion got a game-high 25 points from Nelson and 21 points and 13 boards from Thomas II to lead four Golden Eagles who scored in double figures.
