After 15 consecutive games on the road to begin the season, the Pitt-Johnstown softball team will make its 2026 home debut with PSAC Western Division doubleheaders on Sunday and Monday at the Pitt-Johnstown Softball Field. The Mountain Cats will host Edinboro on Sunday at 1 p.m. and Gannon on Monday at 12:30 p.m.
Head Coach Niki Cognigni-Pecora's squad comes in at 7-8 overall and 1-3 in the PSAC West. On March 21, the Mountain Cats split a pair of games at Seton Hill to open conference-play.
Mia Smith held the Griffins to one run on four hits, while striking out 10 in a 3-1 win in game one. Seton Hill picked up a 1-0 win in the nightcap. Last Sunday at Indiana (PA), the Crimson Hawks earned 8-5 and 4-1 wins.
Audrey Paterson went 3-for-4 with a solo home run to pace Pitt-Johnstown.

Head Coach Dan Gierlak, is 18 overall and 0-4 in the PSAC West after suffering 5-0 and 8-4 losses at Slippery Rock on Tuesday and 14-12 and 5-2 setbacks at Gannon on Wednesday.
Last season, Pitt-Johnstown and Edinboro split four games. The Fighting Scots defeated the Mountain Cats 9-5 and 10-3 in Edinboro on April 13, before Pitt-Johnstown bounced back with 5-0 and 4-3 wins in Johnstown four days later.
Eighth-year Head Coach Michele Wiley's Gannon golden Knights were 8-8 overall and 3-1 in the PSAC West prior to Sunday's scheduled doubleheader at IUP. Gannon split a pair of games with Clarion on March 21, before sweeping Edinboro on Wednesday.
The Golden Knights were able to sweep all four games from the Mountain Cats a year ago.

Following Sunday and Monday's games, Pitt-Johnstown will travel to PSAC West doubleheaders at Slippery Rock and Clarion next weekend. The Mountain Cats are scheduled to return to the Pitt-Johnstown Softball Field on April 11 to host a conference doubleheader against California (PA) at 1 p.m.
