After making history as Pitt-Johnstown's first wrestler to compete and lock in a spot on the podium at the 2026 NCAA National Collegiate Women's Wrestling Championships at Xtream Arena in Coralville, Iowa, on Friday,
Makayla Paclib (131 lbs.) closed out the Mountain Cats' first season by becoming an All-American with an eighth-place finish on Saturday.
With her performance, Paclib accumulated 4.0 team points to help Pitt-Johnstown finish in a tie for 32

Paclib bounced back from an opening round loss to win her next two bouts to advance to Saturday's third round of the consolations to face West Liberty Cassia Zammit with the winner moving into the consolation semifinals and the loser slipping to the seventh-place match. Zammit raced out to a 6-0 lead, before Paclib came back with four straight points of her own, but that was as close as it would get and Paclib was forced to wrestle for seventh-place.
Paclib got a rematch with Iowa's fourth-ranked Karlee Brooks, who earned a technical fall win over Paclib to begin the tournament. Brooks started fast and opened-up an 8-0 lead with just under a minute left in the opening round, then added a take down early in the second period to lock up a 10-0 technical fall win at 3:28 and claim seventh-place.
Paclib took the mat for an opening round match against Brooks. Brooks jumped out to a quick 6-0 first period lead, before Paclib cut it to 6-2 in the second period. However, Brooks went on to a 12-2 technical fall win at 5:06, sending Paclib to the first round of the consolations to take on Chadron State's Piper Cadden.
In that bout, Paclib made history again with a 4-1 decision victory by scoring the final three points to record Pitt-Johnstown's first win at the national tournament.
The win sent Paclib to the second round of the consolations where he ran out to a 7-0 second-period lead on her way to a 9-2 win to advance to the third round of the consolations against Zammit and punch her ticket to a spot on the podium.
