No. 16 Seton Hill Takes Two PSAC West Games From Mountain Cats

Greensburg, PA

For the second straight day, the Mountain Cats could not find ways to get the offense going and suffered two PSAC West losses to 16th-ranked Seton Hill, Saturday afternoon in Greensburg.  The Griffins, who swept the four-game series from Pitt-Johnstown, took both games by 7-0 scores.

Pitt-Johnstown falls to 13-24 (4-12 PSAC) and gets ready for a four game series against Gannon Friday and Saturday.

Game 1: Seton Hill 7, Pitt-Johnstown 0

The Griffins jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the first inning.

Then in the third inning, they extended that lead off a two-run homer.

Karson Reffner walked in the top of the fourth and got into scoring position on a wild pitch, but the Mountain Cats could not get him across.

Seton Hill scored one in the fifth and three in the sixth, before closing out the game 7-0. Griffins' starter Sean Williams earned the win and spun a no-hitter.

Aiden Coleman suffered the loss, tossing five and one-third. Mason Pfeil also tossed two-thirds scoreless.

Similarly to game one, Seton Hill jumped out to an early lead with a big third inning, scoring four runs.

Calvin Iseminger led off the fourth inning with a single, but the Mountain Cats couldn't push him across.

Seton Hill scored three more in the fifth inning and the Griffins completed the shutout with another 7-0 victory.
