The Pitt-Johnstown softball team will celebrate Senior Weekend with a pair of PSAC West doubleheaders.  On Friday, the Mountain Cats will welcome Seton Hill, before recognizing three seniors prior to Saturday's games against California (PA).  Both doubleheaders are scheduled to start at 1 p.m. at the Pitt-Johnstown Softball Field.

Head Coach Niki Cognigni-Pecora and the Pitt-Johnstown softball program will recognize seniors Brynnae Coe, Audrey Paterson, and Mia Smith before taking on the Vulcans on Saturday.

The Mountain Cats, winners of four straight games, are 10-15 overall and 4-8 in the PSAC West.  Pitt-Johnstown is coming off of 5-4 and 5-3 losses at Frostburg State (MD) on Wednesday.  Isabella DePalma had three hits, including a solo home run, Mylee Gdula had four hits and drove in one, and Taylor Lupfer blasted for first career homer and had three RBI.  Last weekend, the Mountain Cats split four conference games.  After suffering 6-3 and 5-0 losses at Slippery Rock, Pitt-Johnstown responded with a 6-4 and 3-2 walk-off sweep over Clarion on Saturday.

Seton Hill, under first-year Head Coach Mandy Sansbury, extended it winning streak to seven straight games and was 15-13 overall and 8-2 in the PSAC West prior Thursday's scheduled conference games at Edinboro.  The Griffins also earned a 4-1 and 8-4 conference sweep at Gannon on April 2.

On March 21, Pitt-Johnstown and Seton Hill split two PSAC games in Greensburg.  The Mountain Cats took the opener, 3-1 behind Gianna Surra three hits and an RBI and Smith's 10 strikeouts.  The Griffins took the nightcap, 1-0, on an RBI groundout from Abby Dejidas.

First-year Head Coach Kristin Erb's Cal U Vulcans were 10-20 overall and 5-7 in the PSAC West before Friday's PSAC doubleheader against Indiana (PA).  On Wednesday, the Vulcans suffered 14-7 and 14-13 losses at Edinboro.  Amarah McCutcheon belted four home runs and drove in 10 in the doubleheader against the Fighting Scots

Last season, Cal U took three-of-four from the Mountain Cats.  On March 25, Jenna Tallman and Coe each homered and drove in three to lead Pitt-Johnstown to an 8-7 win in the opener in Johnstown.  The Vulcans got the split with an 8-5 win in game two, then swept the Mountain Cats, 3-2 and 6-5, in California on April 15.

The Mountain Cats will host a conference doubleheader against Slippery Rock next Friday at 2 p.m. at the Pitt-Johnstown Softball field, before visiting Clarion for two PSAC West games next Saturday.
