

The Pitt-Johnstown baseball team closed out the 2026 season by splitting a pair of PSAC Western Division games at Indiana (PA), Saturday afternoon. Pitt-Johnstown came back and scored four runs in the sixth inning and held on to win 6-5 in the opener, but IUP got the split with a 6-2 victory in the nightcap.

Pitt-Johnstown finished the season 18-32 (8-20 PSAC).

Game 1: Pitt-Johnstown 6, Indiana (PA) 5

The Crimson Hawks jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the second inning, scoring on a double and a single.

Pitt-Johnstown cut that lead in half in the third after
Karson Reffner drove in
Tate Minich on a double.
Â
In the bottom half of the third, IUP added another two runs, similarly to the second inning with a double and a single.

From there, starting pitcher
Aiden Coleman settled in and tossed two straight scoreless frames.

In the top of the fifth,
Alex Ebeling drove in a run on a groundout.
Â
Then in the sixth, the Mountain Cats' offense came back.
Tyler Danko drove in a run on a sacrifice fly out and then
Brody Roberts belted a go-ahead, two-run double. Ebeling added an insurance run on a single to left.

Pitt-Johnstown entered the seventh inning with a 6-4 lead and a leadoff double and a triple the next batter made things interesting, but
Baron Dionis managed to earn the save across two innings with a final score of 6-5.

Roberts led the offense with two doubles and two RBIs.
Game 2: Indiana (PA) 6, Pitt-Johnstown 2

The Mountain Cats used the momentum from game one into game two and got out in front early off a Zac Legars sacrifice fly out.

After multiple innings of no runs, Pitt-Johnstown extended their lead off an RBI double from
Tyler Danko.

However, the Crimson Hawks'offense came back and exploded in the bottom of the sixth for six runs to take the lead for good.Â

Jared Dowey started for the Mountain Cats and went five innings, allowing just two runs off two hits and two walks, striking out seven.
Riley Roskopf suffered the loss in relief, allowing two and only collecting one out.
Ethan Porreca got the final two outs.Â

Lucas Muffie led the bats with multiple hits, going 2-for-4 and scored a run.
