Pitt-Johnstown collected a season-high 22 shots but had to settle for a 1-1, non-conference draw with Central Penn on Wednesday afternoon at Skyline Sports Complex in Harrisburg, as Jack Moyer's first-half goal wasn't enough to hold off the Knights, moving the Mountain Cats to 1-3-1 on the season.

Moyer opened the scoring for Pitt-Johnstown just before the half, finishing off an assist from Noah Pawling in the 29th minute to give the Mountain Cats a 1-0 lead. 

Central Penn answered in the second half when Valentin Garcia scored unassisted in the 76th minute to level the score at 1-1, a mark that would hold through the remainder of regulation. 

The Mountain Cats held a commanding edge in the shot column all afternoon, out-shooting Central Penn 22-8 overall, including a 15-3 advantage in the second half alone.

Jon-Luc Renaud led the way offensively with five shots and two on target, while Bernat Pujol and Tristan Ralph each added three shots and two shots on goal. Jordan Taylor also contributed two shots on goal, while Moyer's finish came on his lone shot on target of the match. Pitt-Johnstown also finished with an 11-3 advantage in shots on goal.

In goal, Sebastian Roman Rivera turned in a steady effort for the Mountain Cats, making two saves on three shots faced. Central Penn's Luke Hartzel was tested far more frequently and rose to the occasion, stopping 10 of 11 shots on goal to preserve the tie for the Knights.

The Mountain Cats return home to open PSAC West-play next Wednesday against  California (PA) at 4:00 p.m. at the Pitt-Johnstown Soccer Field, before traveling to Gannon on Sept. 26 for another conference match.
