Pitt.-Johnstown suffered a PSAC Western Division loss to perennial power Gannon on Saturday after the Golden Knights used a big first half to take control of the match.
Gannon opened up a 9-0 halftime advantage, but Pitt.-Johnstown's defense buckled down and kept them off the board the rest of the way.
Sebastian Roman Rivera, who took over in goal for the second half, turned in a strong effort, stopping seven shots and keeping Gannon off the scoreboard the rest of the way. Gannon out-shot Pitt.-Johnstown 11-4 in the second half but couldn't find the net again.
Pitt.-Johnstown falls to 1-5-0 overall and 0-2-0 in PSAC play.
The Mountain Cats return home to host a PSAC West match against Seton Hill on Wednesday, before welcoming Lackawanna College to Pitt-Johnstown Soccer Field for a non-conference match next Saturday.
