Biography
Freshman Season (2011-12)
Travis McKillop was one of just a few Mountain Cat true freshman ever to not take a red-shirt and McKillop took advantage of his opportunity. He finished third at the Super Region I Tournament on his way to becoming an All-American with a seventh-place finish at the national Tournament. McKillop was 22-7 overall and 6-4 in dual meets. His six victories by fall tied for the team lead. McKillop also won the title at the Washington & Jefferson Collegiate Open and was the runner-up at the Wilkes Open.
Sophomore Season (2012-2013)
McKillop, who jumped from 174 lbs. to 184 lbs., won a Super Region I championship and advanced to the National Semifinals, before becoming an All-American for the second straight year with a third-placed finish. His 33-2 overall record, 16-1 dual meet record, and 11 falls all led the team. McKillop won titles at the Washington & Jefferson Collegiate Open and the Wilkes Open. He also earned First-Team NWCA All-Academic Wrestling Team honors.
Junior Season (2013-2014)
McKillop continued to dominate as a junior by becoming Pitt-Johnstown’s first PSAC Champion. McKillop, a PSAC All-Conference choice, won the Super Region I title, finished as the National Runner-up at 184 lbs., and garnered First-Team NWCA All-Academic Wrestling Team honors for the second straight year. His 13 dual meet wins tied for the team lead, while his 27 total victories and 13 falls were both second on the team and tied Dan Revesz’s single-season mark at 184 lbs. set in 1979-80. Finished 10th in Division II Most Dominant Wrestler ranking with 3.7826 points. McKillop also placed third at the Franklin & Marshall Open.
Senior Season (2014-2015)
McKillop took a red-shirt in 2014-15….champion at Franklin & Marshall Open and Cleveland State Open.
McKillop will return to the Mountain Cats' line-up to end his collegiate career in 2015-16.
High School
Four-year letterman...52-2 record as a senior and a 163-31 career record with 98 falls...four-time PIA AA State Qualifier...three-time PIAA AA State Place winner, including state champion in 2011...also placed fifth in both 2009 and 2010...2010 Powerade Tournament Champion… placed third at 2010 Ironman Tournament...competed in 2011 Dapper Dan Wrestling Classic...two-time Southwest Region Champion…two-time WPIAL Champion...2011 Army Strong Wrestler of the Year and Cliff Keen Wrestling USA All-American...finished career third in national high school rankings...led team to 2008 AA State Championship and three WPIAL titles.
