Biography

    Dominique Smith took over the point guard position in 2014-15 and started 13 of the first 14 games until an injury ended her junior season.  Prior to the injury, Smith was averaging 6.1 points, 2.6 rebounds, and a team-best 4.3 assists per game.  She scored in double figures three times and led the Lady Cats in assists in seven of the 14 games she played.
        After seeing limited time as a freshman, Smith played in 26 games as a sophomore in 2013-14. In 12 minutes per game she averaged 2.5 points, 1.2 rebounds, and 1.5 assists per game.
Smith saw action in four games as a freshman in 2012-13.  She averaged 1.3 points and 1.5 rebounds per game.
Smith had single-game highs of 13 points against Clarion on Nov. 19, 2014, five rebounds on three occasions, and eight assists at Slippery Rock on Nov. 22, 2014.
    Dominique is the daughter of Eddie and Deborah Smith.

       Smith saw action in four games as a freshman in 2012-13.  She averaged 1.3 points and 1.5 rebounds per game.
       Smith had single-game highs of nine points at Davis & Elkins (WV) College on Nov. 12, 2013, four rebounds against East Stroudsburg University on Jan. 8, 2014, and five assists at Slippery Rock University on Feb. 8, 2014.
        Dominique is the daughter of Eddie and Deborah Smith. 
 
 
At Maple Heights High School
 
                Dominique Smith, a two-time All-Lake Erie League selection and a two-time recipient of the City of Maple Heights Mayors Most Valuable Player Award at Maple Heights High School, averaged 18.1 points, 3.7 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 4.8 steals per game in 2011-12.  She posted single-game highs of 27 points, 11 rebounds, 12 assists, and 11 steals.  Smith ranks in the top-five in six Maple Heights all-time statistical records, including second in steals in a season (106) and third in both career points (841) and career steals (212).
     Smith, who earned three letters in basketball and was the school’s starting point guard and team captain for two seasons, was tabbed the team’s Most Valuable Player and the Offensive Player of the Year.
                In addition to basketball, Smith was an all-league member of the track team and a two-year letter-winner in volleyball.
                In the classroom, Smith was her school’s recipient of the Ohio High School Athletic Association Scholar-Athlete Award with a GPA of 3.92.  Smith, who was on the honor roll for three years, ranked in the top-20 in her class of 270 students.
                She was coached by Rickey Watters at Maple Heights High School.
