Freshman Season (2013-14)

Red-Shirt Freshman Season (2014-15)
         D.J. Sims took over the starting job at 285 lbs. and placed fourth at the Super Region I Tournament to qualify for the National Tournament.  Sims went 14-12 overall and 6-4 in dual meets.  He also wrestled at the PSAC Championships, but did not place.  Sims’ five victories by fall tied for second on the team.  He was also named Second-Team NWCA All-Academic Wrestling Team.
 
Sophomore Season (2015-16)
Sims went 30-8 overall and 12-2 in dual meets and placed third at the Super Region I Tournament to advance to his second consecutive National Tournament.  He was the runner-up at 285 lbs. at the PSAC Championships and placed third at the Midwest Classic in Indianapolis.  His 11 falls ranked second on the team, while his 13 wins by decision tied for second on the team.  Sims was also named First-Team NWCA All-Academic Wrestling Team.
 
Junior Season (2016-17)
Sims posted a 16-7 overall record and a 6-4 mark in dual meets.  His five wins by fall were tied for third-best on the team.  Sims finished fifth at the 2017 Super Region I Tournament and seventh at the Midwest Classic.  He was also named First-Team NWCA All-Academic Wrestling Team for the third straight year.

Two-year letterman…senior season record of 23-4…career record of 66-11…2012 PIAA AAA State Qualifier…placed third at WPIAL Tournament in 2012...placed sixth at Flo Nationals in 2012.
 
Personal
Majoring in General Management and Marketing…two-year letterman in both baseball and football at Aliquippa High School...First-Team MAC All-Conference in football… member of Aliquippa’s 2012 PIAA AA State Runner-up Team and 2011 and 2012 WPIAL Championship Team...son of Damon Sims, Sr. and  Arna George.
