Former Kent State (OH) University standout and Summerhill, Pa. native George Roberts joined Head Coach Todd Williams’ baseball staff prior to the 2016 season, and was named interim head coach in 2025 after Williams' retirement.
Through two seasons, Roberts is 33-65 overall and 14-42 in the PSAC. He also coached three Second-Team All-PSAC West selections, including Justin Turcovski in 2025 and Jared Dowey and Alex Ebeling in 2026.

Roberts was a four-year letterman at Kent State from 2010-2013 where he was the 2012 Mid-America Conference (MAC) Player of the Year, a Louisville Slugger Second-Team All-American, and a American Baseball Coaches Association/Rawlings All-Mideast Region selection after leading Golden Flashes to a spot in the College World Series.

As a senior, Roberts was a Louisville Slugger and a College Sports Madness Preseason All-American, and the Preseason MAC Player of the Year. He earned a spot on the Preseason Golden Spikes Award Watch List, an award given to the top collegiate baseball player in America.  At the end of the year, he was named First-Team All-MAC honors for the second consecutive season.
In 2023, Kent State inducted Roberts into its Athletics Hall of Fame.

After graduating with a degree in Kinesiology in 2013, Roberts, was drafted in the 26th round of the Major League Baseball Draft by the Arizona Diamondbacks. He spent three seasons in that organization, before returning home to assist his brother Rick in running ERA baseball school.

Roberts, a graduate of Forest Hills High School, his wife Diana, their daughter London and sons George and Johnny Pio reside in Summerhill.
