2015-16 Season

 
        A.J. Leahey, a 2016-17 Preseason All-PSAC West selection, led Pitt-Johnstown in scoring (17.5 ppg.) and rebounding (8.1 rpg.) on his way to being named First-Team All-PSAC West for the second consecutive season, and Second-Team NABC all-Atlantic Region. 
        Leahey, who became Pitt-Johnstown 27th 1,000-point scorer on March 1, earned PSAC West Player of the Week twice, and finished his junior season ranked third in the PSAC in 3-point field goals made (72), and fourth in 3-point field goals per game (2.48).  His 167 career-3-pointers currently rank seventh on the Mountain Cat All-Time List. Nationally, his 234 rebounds ranked 78th, and his 8.1 rebounds per game ranked 80th
        Leahey led the team in scoring 13 times and rebounding 23 times.  He scored in double figures in 28 of 29 games and recorded six double-doubles.  He was also named Capital One First-Team All-Academic District II.

        Leahey posted highs of 32 points against Gannon University on Feb. 6, 2016, 16 rebounds against Edinboro University on Feb. 10, 2016, and five assists on two occasions.

2014-15 Season
   
        Leahey, a First-Team All-PSAC West choice, was Pitt-Johnstown’s leading scorer (13.9 ppg.) and second leading rebounder (6.9 rpg.).   He led the team in field goal percentage (52.7%), 3-point field goal percentage (51.0%), and 3-point field goals (76), was second in blocked shots (20), fourth in steals (18), and sixth in assists (41). 
        Leahey’s 51% shooting from 3-point range ranked second in NCAA Division II, while his 2.81 3-point field goals per game ranked 45th and his 76 3-pointers ranked 63rd.  He led the team in scoring eight times and rebounding 10 times.  Leahey scored in double figures 19 times and had five or more rebounds 24 times.  Leahey also recorded four double-doubles.


2013-14

        Leahey played in all 26 Mountain Cat games as a true freshman. In nearly 13 minutes per game, he averaged 4.7 points and 2.8 rebounds. He shot 45.4% (49-108) from the field, 46.3% (19-41) from behind the three-point line, and 54.5% (6-11) from the free-throw line. His 13 blocked shots ranked second on the team and his 19 three-pointers ranked fourth. Leahey also had 16 assists and nine steals.
       
 

At Penn Cambria High School
 
            A.J. Leahey was a four-year letterman and three-year team captain for Head Coach James Ronan at Penn Cambria High School where he guided his team to the District 6 Championship in 2013.  Leahey, who holds the school record for career points (1,667 pts.), rebounds (1,002 rebs.), and three-point field goals (232 3FG’s) was a PIAA AA First-Team All-State selection in 2013 and a Third-Team choice in 2012.  He averaged 21 points, 12 rebounds, three assists and three blocks per game as a senior.  Leahey was named the 2012-13 Johnstown Tribune-Democrat and Altoona Mirror Player of the Year and earned the PIAA District 6 Sportsmanship Award.  He was also a three-time Laurel Highland Athletic Conference (LHAC) All-Conference selection and an Altoona Mirror First-Team All Area choice following his junior season.  Leahey posted single-game high of 37 points against Bishop Carroll High School and 20 rebounds against Central Cambria High School.
