2012-13 Season


                Bill Luther started all 28 games and finished as the Mountain Cats third-leading scorer at 12.0 points per game.  He also averaged 4.4 rebounds and nearly two assists per game.  Luther was second on the team in 3-point field goals (75) and 3-point field goal percentage (44.1%) and third in assists (50).  Nationally, he ranked 15th in the country in 3-point field goal percentage and 40th in 3-point field goals per game (2.68), including 10 against Bowie State (MD) University on December 5 to tie Jordan Miller’s single-game record.  Luther, the WVIAC Co-Player of the Week on December 10, scored in double figures 19 times and grabbed five or more rebounds 11 times.
                Through three seasons, Luther has highs of 34 points against Bowie State (MD) University on Dec. 5, 2012 and 12 rebounds in his collegiate debut on Nov. 13, 2010 against Concord (WV) University, and six assists against Ohio Valley (WV) University on Jan. 14, 2013.
 
2011-12 Season
                Luther played in all 29 games and made 27 starts as a sophomore.  He averaged 7.6 points and 3.4 rebounds per game.  His 49.0 3-point field goal percentage paced the Mountain Cats, while his 48 three-pointers were second on the team.  Luther also shot 51.6% (81-157) from the field and 11-13 (84.6%) from the free-throw line.  He scored in double-figures nine times and grabbed five or more rebounds nine times.
 
2010-11 Season
                Luther joined Head Coach Bob Rukavina’s starting line-up as a true freshman and made an immediate impact.  Luther was named to the WVIAC All-Freshman Team after averaging 10.8 points and 5.3 rebounds per game.  He paced Pitt-Johnstown in 3-point field goal percentage (47.3%), was second in both rebounding and blocked shots, and third in 3-point field goals-made (62).  Luther scored in double-figures in 16 games and grabbed five or more rebounds 18 times.  He was also selected to play on the Global Sports Academy All-Star Team that represented the United States in Belgium, England, and Germany in August 2011.
  
  At Hampton High School
            Luther was a three-year letterman who finished his career with 1,223 career points under Head Coach Joe Lafko at Hampton High School.  Luther earned First-Team Pennsylvania AAA All-State honors and was tabbed Pittsburgh Fab-5 and All-AAA WPIAL following the 2009-10 season.  He was also a three-time All-Section selection who helped lead his team to the 2008-09 and 2009-10 AAA State Semifinals, a WPIAL championship in 2009 and a WPIAL Runner-up finish in 2010.  Luther’s uncle, Rob Shanahan, is a Mountain Cat alumnus from 1992.
