Biography

At Pitt-Johnstown
2016-17 Season
Dale Clancy ranked in the Top-53 in five NCAA Categories on his way to being named First-Team All-PSAC Western Division as a junior.  Clancy ranked 13th in total assists (187), 14th in assists per game (6.2), 22nd in 3-point field goal percentage (44.3%), 47th in total steals (56), and 53rd in steals per game (1.87).  His 187 assists, 56 steals, 77 3-point field goals, and 72 free-throws-made all led the Mountain Cats, while his 44.3% 3-point field goal percentage ranked third.  Clancy was also third on the team in scoring at 14.0 ppg, and fourth in rebounding at 4.0 rpg.  On Feb. 27, 2017, Clancy became Pitt-Johnstown’s 28th 1,000-point scorer.  He enters his senior season ranked 28th on the Mountain Cat All-Time Scoring List with 1,012 points, eighth on the all-time assists list with 391, and tied for 10th on the all-time 3-point field goals list with 155.
 
Clancy has career-highs of 26 points vs. California University (PA) on Jan. 11, 2017 and 26 points at Clarion University on Jan. 28. 2017.  He also grabbed 10 rebounds against Seton Hill University on Jan. 21, 2017 and had 11 assists at California (PA) on Jan. 11, 2017 and 11 assists against Edinboro on Feb. 4, 2017.

 

2015-16 Season
        Dale Clancy, a 2016-17 Preseason All-PSAC West selection, took over the starting point guard job and led the Mountain Cats in assists (125) and steals (48) and was the team’s third leading scorer at 13.3 points per game.  His 115 free-throws made and 151 free-throw attempts also led Pitt-Johnstown, while his 4.0 rebounds per game ranked third.  Clancy led the team in scoring three times, rebounding twice, and assists 15 times.  He scored in double figures 22 times, had four or more rebounds 14 times, and had five or more assists 15 times. 
 
 
2014-15 Season
 
         Clancy played in all 27 Mountain Cat games and made 12 starts as a true freshman on his way to leading the team in assists (79) and steals (36).  Clancy also averaged 2.0 assists per game and finished fourth on the team in both scoring (7.6 ppg.) and 3-point field goals-made.  He led Pitt-Johnstown in assists 14 times.  Clancy scored in double figures eight times, grabbed three or more rebounds nine times, and dished out five or more assists six times.
        Clancy also had five rebounds at Indiana University (PA) in the First Round of the PSAC Tournament on Feb. 28, 2015, and seven assists at Edinboro on Feb. 25, 2015.


At Seton La Salle High School
 
             Dale Clancy averaged 17 points, five rebounds, and seven assists per game on his way to leading Seton La Salle High School to a WPIAL Championship and a PIAA Class A State Runner-up finish in 2013-14.  Clancy wrapped-up with high school career with 1,072 points, over 300 rebound, and more than 400 assists.  He was selected to play in the Hoops for Cure All-Star Game where he garnered Most Valuable Player honors.  Clancy was also named an Almanac Fab Five. Clancy is the son of Dale Clancy, Sr. and Monica Wheat of Pittsburgh, Pa.  He was coached by Mark Walsh at Seton La Salle High School.
