2019-20 Season
Donovian Maxfield transferred to Pitt-Johnstown from Johnson & Wales University in Rhode Island prior to the 2019-20 season. He played in all 31 games as a junior and averaged 3.7 points per game. Maxfield, whose 3-pointer with 2.3 seconds remaining lifted the Mountain Cats to a 62-61 win over the University of the Sacred Heart in Puerto Rico on Nov. 29, led the team with a 41.4 3-point field goal percentage and third with 29 made 3-pointers. He also had 24 assists and 12 steals.

In one season at Pitt-Johnstown, Maxfield posted single-game highs of 12 points at Gannon University on Feb. 2, 2020, two rebounds at University of Puerto Rico-Rio Piedras on Nov. 27, 2019, and three assists at University of Puerto Rico-Bayamon on Nov. 29, 2019.

At Johnson & Wales (R.I.) University
Donovian Maxfield transferred to Pitt-Johnstown prior to the 2019-20 season after playing two seasons for Coach Jamie Benton at Johnson & Wales University in Rhode Island. Maxfield, who help lead Johnson & Wales to a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Championship in 2017-18, hit seven 3-pointers and scored a career-high 23 points against Colby-Sawyer (NH) College. Maxfield, a two-time member of the Dean’s List, also scored 21 points against Saint Joseph (CT) College, who was led by legendary coach Jim Calhoun

At Northeastern High School
Maxfield was a four-year letterman in basketball under Jon Eyster at Northeastern High School. Maxfield was also on the Honor Roll all four years in high school.
