Biography

At Pitt-Johnstown
2023-24 Season
                 Elijah Sechler joined the Mountain Cats starting lineup midway through the season and averaged 4.5 points, 1.9 rebounds, and 2.4 assists per game.  He finished second on the team in assists and tied for third in steals (19).  He scored in double figures four times, grabbed four or more rebounds five times, and dished out four or more assists six times.

                 Sechler has posted single-game highs of 11 points against Penn State-New Kensington on Nov. 14, 2023 and 11 points against Edinboro on Feb. 10, 2024.  He also grabbed six rebounds on three occasions and collected seven assists against Penn State-Schuylkill on Nov. 28, 2022.
 
2022-23 Season
After red-shirting in 2021-22, Sechler made his Mountain Cat debut and averaged 1.7 points, 1.1 rebounds, and one assist in 16 games-played.  He also had four steals and shot 9-13 from the free-throw line.

At Berlin Brothersvalley High School
         Elijah Sechler, a four-year letterman in basketball for Head Coach Tanner Prosser at Berlin Brothersvalley High School, was named the 2020-21 PIAA ‘A’ Player of the Year.
            Sechler finished his high school career with 1,545 points, including a 44-point performance against Shade High School.
            He was a two-time PIAA All-State selection, a three-time All-Somerset County and All-West-PAC Conference choice, and the 2021 Somerset County Most Valuable Player.
            Sechler guided his team to a 2020-21 PIAA State Runner-up finish, an appearance in the Elite Eight in 2019-20, and a spot in the PIAA State Sweet 16 in 2018-19.

            Also a four-year letterman in soccer and a one-year letterman in track and field, Sechler is the son of Corey and Jessica Sechler of Berlin, Pa.
 
Sechler is majoring in Civil Engineering.
