2015-16 Season
Jake Laravie played in all 29 games as a junior and averaged 5.8 points, 1.6 rebounds, and 1.0 assists per game. Laravie led the team in free-throw percentage at 92.9% (39-42). He also shot 41.9% (49-117) from the field and 43.5% (39-42) from 3-point range. Laravie scored in double figures six times. His 15 points at Millersville University on January 3 paced the Mountain Cats.
Laravie has career-highs of 18 points against Penn State-New Kensington on Nov. 14, 2013, seven rebounds against Slippery Rock University on Dec. 7, 2013, and four assists at Slippery Rock on Feb. 8, 2014.
2014-15 Season
Laravie averaged 5.7 points and one rebound in 24-games-played. Laravie’s 89.2% (33-37) free-throw percentage led the Mountain Cats, while his 25 3-point field goals and 44.6% 3-point field goal percentage both ranked third on the team. He also had 17 assists and 11 steals. Laravie scored in double figures four times.
2013-14 Season
Laravie made his Pitt-Johnstown debut after red-shirting as a true freshman in 2013-14. Laravie played in all 26 games and averaged 5.8 points, 1.7 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game off the bench. He shot 45.6% (51-128) from the field, 41.3% (26-63) from three-point range, and 88.9% (32-36) from the free-throw line. Four times as a red-shirt freshman Laravie scored in double figures. He also grabbed three or more rebounds six times and had three or more assists four times.
At Archbishop Alter High School
Jake Laravie, a two-year letterman for Head Coach Joe Petrocelli at Archbishop Alter High School, was a District 15 All-Star and an Ohio Associated Press All-Southwest District Special Mention. Laravie, a two-time All-Greater Catholic League selection, averaged 12.1 points, 3.0 rebounds, 1.7 assists, and 1.3 steals per game for his career. His 86% (111-129) career free-throw percentage, 90.9% free-throw shooting in a season, and 50.6% shooting from three-point range in a season are all school records. Laravie also ranks fifth on the Archbishop Alter career three-point field goal percentage list at 43.5%. He posted career-highs of 26 points at Fairmont High School on Jan. 29, 2011 and 10 rebounds in a triple-double game at LaSalle High School on Feb. 10, 2012. Laravie also dished out seven assists and hit 10-13 field goals against Pinecrest (GA) High School on Dec. 29, 2011. Laravie, who also earned one letter on the baseball team, garnered Second-Honors Senior Year Academics. In addition, Laravie’s uncles, Jim and John Paxson, are both former NBA players.
