Biography

At Pitt Johnstown

2005-06 Season
Kyle made his Mountain Cat debut after red-shirting as a freshman and made an immediate impact. In 27 games played (one start), Kyle led the team in rebounding (7.3 rpg.) and blocked shots (74 blocks) and was second in both scoring (11.5 ppg.) and field goal percentage (59.9% 127-212) on his way to being named Independent Collegiate Athletic Association Freshman of the Year and Second Team ICAA. His 2.7 blocks per game ranked him seventh in the final NCAA Division II statistics. Kyle led Pitt Johnstown in scoring three times and rebounding 12 times. He scored in double-figures 18 times and grabbed 10 or more rebounds seven times. In one season, Kyle collected single-game highs of 21 points against Mount Aloysius College on 02/13/06, 14 rebounds against Shippensburg University on 01/04/06 and seven assists against the University of District of Columbia on 11/19/05. Kyle also blocked at least one shot in 26 of the Mountain Cats’ 27 games, including seven against Northwood (MI) University at the Gannon University Gary Miller Classic 11/16/05.

At Central Catholic High School
Kyle played for Head Coach Chuck Crummie at Pittsburgh Central Catholic where he averaged 15 points, eight rebounds and two blocked shots per game as a senior. Kyle helped lead his team to the Pennsylvania State AAAA Quarterfinals in 2004. In addition, he helped lead his team to the WPIAL Section Championship over eventual State Champion Penn Hills High School. He was selected to play in the 2004 Chartiers Valley Hoops for Cure All-Star Game and the WPIAL vs. Pittsburgh City Schools All-Star Game. Kyle had a career average of 13 points, 10 rebounds and a 59.9% field goal percentage. He posted career highs of 25 points against Penn Hills High School, 18 rebounds against Erie McDowell High School and eight blocks against East Liverpool High School. Kyle was also a member of the track and field team where he helped lead Central Catholic to the 2004 WPIAL title. Kyle was a member of the National Honor Society and on the honor roll all four years.
