2007-08 Season
Quinton, the Most Valuable Player at the 2007 Pitt-Johnstown Tip-Off Classic and an Honorable Mention All-WVIAC selection, started in all 31 games and was Pitt-Johnstown’s third leading scorer (12.7 ppg.) and second leading rebounder (5.6 rpg.). He enters the 2008-09 season 129 points shy of 1,000 for his career. He also needs 89 rebounds and 21 assists to break into the Mountain Cat All-Time Top-10 Career Rebounding and Assists Lists. Quinton tied Josue’ Nieves’ school-record of eight three-pointers in a game against West Liberty State (WV) College on Feb. 11, 2008. Quinton ranked 96th in NCAA Division II and sixth in the WVIAC in steals per game at 1.9 spg. and fifth in the WVIAC in free-throw percentage at 84.3% (75-89). Quinton ranked second on the team in assists (124), steals (58) and blocks (20). He led or tied for the team lead in scoring four times, rebounding six times, assists six times and steals 11 times. Quinton scored in double figures 22 times, pulled down five or more rebounds 20 times and dished out five or more assists 14 times. In three seasons, he has career-highs of 31 points against Ohio Valley (WV) University on Nov. 26, 2007 and 13 rebounds against Clarion University on Nov. 17, 2007. Quinton has also dished out eight assists against the University of the District of Columbia on Feb. 10, 2007 and eight assists against Alderson-Broaddus (WV) College on Feb. 2, 2008.
2006-07 Season
Quinton started all 30 games and was Pitt-Johnstown’s third leading scorer at 11.4 ppg. and rebounder at 5.0 rpg. He led the Mountain Cats in free-throw percentage at 83.9% (52-62), three-point field goal percentage at 49.5% (51-103) and steals (46), and was second in three-point field goals-made (51). He was also third on the team in assists (2.4 apg.) and blocks (16). Quinton’s 49.5% three-point goal percentage was the best in the WVIAC. Quinton paced Pitt-Johnstown in scoring four times, rebounding seven times and assists four times. He also scored in double figures 20 times, grabbed five or more rebounds 17 times and dished out four or more assists eight times. Quinton recorded season-highs of 27 points against Concord (WV) University on Jan. 13, 2007, 11 rebounds against West Liberty State (WV) College on Nov. 18, 2006 and eight assists against the University of the District of Columbia on Feb. 10, 2007.
2005-06 Season
Quinton made two starts and played in all 27 Mountain Cat games as a red-shirt freshman. He averaged 4.9 points, 3.4 rebounds and 1.5 assists in 14 minutes per game. He shot 43.0% (46-107) from the field, 30.0% (9-30) from behind the three-point line and 74.4% (32-43) from the free-throw line. Three times Quinton led or tied for the team lead in rebounds. He scored in double figures four times and had five or more rebounds nine times. Through one season, Quinton posted highs of 20 points against Mount Aloysius College on Feb. 13, 2006, seven rebounds on two occasions and five assists against Penn State-Harrisburg on Dec. 9, 2005.
At West Mifflin Area High School
Quinton played for former Pitt-Johnstown assistant basketball coach Lance Maha at West Mifflin Area High School where he averaged 14 points, six rebounds and three assists per game as a senior. Quinton, a senior team captain, was named a 2004 AAAA Section 5 All-Star and was selected to play in the Chartiers Valley Hoops for Cure All-Star Game where he scored 17 points and added five rebounds and four assists. He scored a career-high 18 points and grabbed 11 rebounds against South Allegheny High School during the 2003-04 season. Quinton also graduated from high school with honors and earned the Dan Filo Scholarship for the combination of best athlete with the best academics.
